 INTRODUCTION : Traffic jam is a common problem in this modern era people usually stuck in a traffic jam and waste a lot of time in these jams. 

 When and where it happened ?

Here I would like to talk about a time when I was taking traffic. This incident happened with me one year ago. When when I was visiting Amritsar to celebrate Diwali. I took general bus to visit Amritsar in order to save money instead of Volvo bus. It was fully pact but somehow I took a seat.After, Completing journey of 3 hours.

How long you were in the traffic jam ?

when we entered in Amritsar city there was a huge traffic.Generally, there is a lot of traffic and traffic jam is common in this city due to old infrastructure of this city. In addition, traffic was increased due to festival season because lot of people visit Amritsar in order to celebrate Diwali.

However, there was another reason of traffic jam that was protest of unemployed teacher who was doing protest against government. That was the prime reason of traffic jam. There was long queue of buses cars and other vehicles. Traffic Police wale trying to divert the girls on other roads. I was trying to busy myself in this situation and listening my favourite music. Some passengers was playing game and other blame government for this irritating situation. In the end, I can say that it was irritating experience for me. I was extremely frustrated after wasting around 3 hours in this jam because it ruined my whole day.

 1.Are traffic James common in Indian cities?

  Yes, India has a huge population that's why traffic jam in common in Indian metropolitan cities like    Delhi,Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore. Moreover, Indians do not a baby rules and they park their vehicles on the roads which is the cause of traffic jam problem.

2.Why are cities today facing serious traffic issues?

I think the primary reason of this problem is urbanization. More and more people are moving in cities for the better quality of life this leads to traffic issues because the roads are not designed to handle today's traffic these road restricted traffic flow and leads to jams.

3.What can be done to improve a traffic conditions in cities?

The number of a steps can be taken to improve traffic conditions. Firstly, government should promote the public transport so people use this instead of private vehicle. Also, the roads needs to be wide and according today's traffic.

4.Can developing public transport help resolving traffic issues in cities?

I think public transportation can  resolve  traffic issues if government provide better amenities in public transport because if people get better facilities in the public transport than they use this instead of private vehicles so automatically traffic problem can be reduced in metropolitan cities and other cities.
